In the spring, when the weather warms up and the flowers bloom, many people ride their bikes around the University of Alabama campus.
Accidents involving pedestrians, cyclists, skateboarders and vehicles are a concern for everyone. Accidents can result in injury and property damage.
Safety is everyone’s responsibility. So whether you ride your own bike or opt for a VEO e-bike, here are some tips to keep in mind:
The university has installed green markings on bike lanes at several campus intersections. These green lines help improve bike lane visibility, allowing drivers to better recognize potential cyclists. They also help reduce conflicts between cyclists and turning vehicles.
Weather permitting, the University will test its emergency notification systems, including UA Alerts, the public address system and digital signage, on Wednesday, April 5 at 11:55 a.m.
